Cutlers Ambassadors Program.
On the 22nd April our Year 10 and Year 9 Cutler Ambassador students attended the Get up To Speed festival at the Magna Science Adventure Centre. The event showcased businesses in manufacturing and engineering from around Sheffield and Rotherham. Schools and members of the public went along to see the interactive exhibitions.
Our Year 9 Cutler Ambassadors won the 'Made in Sheffield' Innovation Challenge award. They had been working on a project set by our business partner PEGL President Engineering Group since January. The students met weekly with representatives from the company to develop designs for a new exhibition stand which would allow the company to showcase models of their range of valves.
On the day our Year 10 Ambassadors ran a Mad Scientists stall where members of the public were able to try out a range of experiments. The students developed the project and costed it, going out to buy resources and plan and run the activity completely independently.
A group of our Year 8 students also attended the event in the afternoon, had an opportunity to look around the exhibition and take part in interactive activities such as the smoothie bike and engraving products.
We are very proud of our achievements on the day and thank our business support PEGL for all of their time and commitment as well as the organisers for a great event.
